A lot of times it is possible to tell much about a certain person just by seeing what their living space looks like. Not only in terms of tidiness or disorder, but also soft furnishings. Colours, designs and arrangements can speak volumes.

There were two industries that I was closed associated with as a child; one was the hospitality industry – a bright, rather dazzling world with glittering people and places. And then there was the interior design world. This was a world full of gorgeous silks, colour boards, and creative people. As a tiny tot, I remember getting dropped to the office after school, where my mother had designated a sitting room especially for me. I would watch and help as she designed colour schemes for hotels and furnished apartments.

I found Popular Home Collections through an advertisement for writers, and I thought I would love to write for this site because I have always cherished a love of interior design. There is something particularly lovely about the designs that are available here, whether the bathroom suites or the bedroom decor. Additionally, the site is being revamped and being given a completely new image. It is a new project and I see it as a wonderful opportunity to contribute, as well as gain a great deal from the experience.

I like the site, because it is uncluttered with clean lines. The information is immediately visible without taking away from the accompanying imagery. The colour scheme is comforting for a shopper, not overwhelming in any way. I think it creates an ideal backdrop for the products.

Interior design is a highly creative enterprise and that is perhaps what draws me to it. At some time in the near future, I hope to start a business of my own, and I would source items from all over the world. Popular Home Collections appeals to my sense of aesthetics, and I do believe it could potentially be a mutually beneficial and rather exciting opportunity.
